A team from the Senior League reaches the County Cup Semi Final for the first time.
Newbold Verdon beat Narborough and Littlethorpe of Division 1 of the Everards County League
Newbold Verdon beat Narborough and Littlethorpe in the County Cup Quarter Final , to become the first team the Leicestershire Senior Cricket league to reach the Semi Final.
Newbold Verdon won by 8 wickets. Newbold won the toss and inserted Narborough in on a green wicket . Narborough were 10 for 4 , before Michael Whitmore hit 47 to get Narborough to 132 for 9 off 40 overs.
The wickets were shared around with Mark Henderson 2 , Paul Bateman 3, Mark wilkinson 2 , Mark Bird and Ryan Bird taking wickets.
In reply Newbold were 9 for 2 with both openers out. An unbeaten partnership of 127 between Dan Chapman 62 no and Gareth Bell 54 no , secured an 8 wicket win for Newbold with 10 overs remaining.
